DEMOCRATIC PARTY POLITICS (2011-2024):
Documentary Coverage from Events & Campaign Rallies
Political Photography Credentials Overview
I am a Seattle-based documentary and event photographer with 14 years of expertise in political content creation. Over the years, I have been actively engaged in press work and have also formed direct partnerships with national and local campaigns, offering a multifaceted understanding of dynamic political coverage. My editorial portfolio, primarily self-assigned and self-funded but featuring work for clients such as Rolling Stone, Mother Jones, and a TIME magazine cover of Senator Bernie Sanders, showcases over 300 rallies and demonstrations across 27 states and DC. For this work, I marry the immediacy of photojournalism with the persuasive power of fine art to vividly and critically depict the nuances of fragile American democracy and fervent political expression. On the flip side, working on behalf of esteemed campaign clients and action committees like the Democratic National Committee, Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, Maria Cantwell for Senate, Pramila Jayapal for Congress, and LGBTQ+ Victory Fund, I authentically shape positive pictorial narratives for causes I deeply believe in. Now, transitioning from freelance media work, I am eager to focus on crafting strategic images that endorse and visually represent Democratic figures and proud supporters. I aim to convey palpable inspiration with each capture, portraying key moments, individuals, and details at high-stakes events and fundraisers in their best, most favorable light. My skill set includes impactful editorial judgment, proficient logistics and digital asset management, and a collaborative leadership style in mentoring and assigning creatives. I am direct, transparent, proactive, and good-humored, with broad experience building rapport with presidential campaign advance and cross-functional teams and peers. I am prepared to hit the ground running, facilitating, capturing, editing, archiving, and delivering compelling, even iconic imagery in service to progressive campaigns.
I am just beginning work on these annual galleries, which will contain hundreds of selects from dozens of events and will grow by the day. Stay tuned!
